I try my best not to allow my children to watch videos on YouTube. I don’t want to use YouTube Kids.1 It doesn’t seem YouTube has figured out how to make their official app kids-friendly, but there is one way to have more control.
Sometimes I give up and allow the children to watch videos on YouTube. Here is the method I use to ensure they can only watch the videos I approve.
- Search and download videos that you allow your kids to watch.
- Turn off the Wi-Fi or enable Airplane Mode before you hand over the device to your children.
By doing so, you can limit the selection of videos to only the one you have downloaded to your device.
YouTube Kids shouldn’t exist in the first place if there is no easy way to manage the content. Furthermore, the recommendation is awful, with most of their content quality below average. ↩
